Hello, welcome to my blog. So this blog will (hopefully) be a day by day record of my one month studying in China. I do not know if I will have access to internet while I’m there on a daily basis, if not I will do a offline blog and publish it back when I return (as per the specification of the project idea I submitted to the Gilman Scholarship over half a year ago).
Anyhoo, tomorrow is my flight at 1:35 PM. My friend Jennifer is going to drive me to the airport in the morning and hopefully everything will go smoothly. I’m pretty nervous about going on such a long flight since I don’t really fly much. It doesn’t help that I was watching Lost at my sister’s two weeks ago and saw all those wonderful scenes where the plane crashes.
Also doesn’t help that I broke a mirror today either. Not that I’m really superstitious but it doesn’t help with the nerves. Though I’m sure everything will go fine. I’m more worried about getting lost while changing flights in Korea if anything lol.
I spent the day packing and cleaning. I managed to get all my clothes in my smaller suitcase which is good. I’m considering going back and trying to cut back on some clothes though. I’d like my luggage to be as empty as possible so I have room to bring back any stuff I buy.
I am just a little excited, though more worried over the stuff I forgot to buy.. like a plug adapter for my chargers. Hmmmm, I suppose I can pick up one over there though?
I got some nice tips from my friends who fly more than me and have put just about everything in my carryon into ziplock bags. That way I can take them out and put them back in easily at the security check. All my electronics are rubberbanded to their cases also for the same purpose (also all in ziplock bags). So I hope I will get through security quickly 🙂
